Jack McClintock currently serves on North Saanich Council and represents the community on the Vancouver Island Regional Library Board of Directors. With 12 years on Council and an active role in regional governance, he is running for Mayor to bring experienced, respectful and accountable leadership to North Saanich for the next four years.

Jack brings 12 years on North Saanich Council, current regional board service and a long career in public safety to his candidacy for Mayor. His community relationships, practical experience and commitment to North Saanich are the foundation of his leadership.
Jack currently serves on North Saanich Council and represents North Saanich on the Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) Board of Directors.
His work with fellow trustees adds a regional perspective to his municipal experience—working together, considering public priorities and sharing responsibility for the services communities rely on.

Jack's 12 years as a North Saanich councillor have given him a detailed understanding of municipal government, community priorities and the responsibilities of elected leadership.
Before serving on Council, Jack spent 32 years as a police officer in Vancouver, Victoria and Central Saanich. He also served as a Conservation Officer in Alberta and Yukon.
These experiences taught him the importance of listening, fairness, sound judgment, accountability and making difficult decisions in the public interest.

Jack joined fellow Tour de Rock alumni today to welcome the current 2026 Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock riders.
Cops for Cancer brings first responders and communities together in support of children with cancer and their families. Jack is pictured with fellow Tour de Rock alumni and with Tour de Rock volunteer Kayla Hugli.
In Sidney, Jack represented North Saanich at the unveiling of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 37 100th Anniversary Memorial and bench near the Sidney/North Saanich Library.
Jack joined veterans, Legion members and community residents in marking a century of service to veterans, military families and the Saanich Peninsula communities. He is pictured with Ryan Trelford, President of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 37, and with fellow Legion members at the unveiling ceremony.
Jack was also present as the Legion recognized Brian Robinson, now an employee of the Town of Sidney and formerly employed by the North Saanich Public Works Department, with a gift of appreciation for his work on the 100th Anniversary Memorial and bench.

He is of solid character. He is honest and open minded. He is hard working and will help transform governance in North Saanich.
I first met Jack in 2014 during the North Saanich municipal election, and I had the privilege of serving alongside him on Council for eight years.
During that time, I came to know Jack as a thoughtful, principled and dedicated member of Council. He is fiscally conservative and understands the importance of responsible stewardship of taxpayers’ dollars. He also recognizes that good municipal government is about much more than finances - it is about people, community and working together to get things done.
Jack believes strongly in collaboration and, in addition to the Council table, that includes the Peninsula and Greater Victoria. He understands that the challenges facing our communities don’t stop at municipal boundaries, and that effective leadership means building respectful relationships and working with neighbouring municipalities and regional partners.
Most importantly, Jack is a person of integrity and compassion. He listens, treats people with respect and approaches difficult decisions with appropriate care and attention. I have seen firsthand his commitment to North Saanich and to public service.
I am pleased to endorse Jack for Mayor of North Saanich and believe he would bring the experience, integrity, fiscal responsibility and collaborative leadership that our community needs and deserves.
North Saanich residents deserve local government that communicates clearly, makes decisions transparently and remains accountable to the taxpayers it serves.
Jack believes the direction and communication of local government must renew a strong spirit of openness, responsibility and public service.
North Saanich should be a strong community within a great province. That means working constructively with residents, community organizations, neighbouring municipalities, First Nations, local businesses and the Province of British Columbia.
Transparent decisions and responsible stewardship of the community residents have worked hard to build.
Residents deserve clear, timely and understandable information about municipal finances, changing costs and the results taxpayers should expect.
Significant expenditures should be justified by community need, affordability and value for money.
North Saanich must address provincial housing direction while protecting infrastructure capacity, environmental assets and rural character.
Recreation decisions should reflect meaningful consultation with residents, facility users, community organizations and affected neighbourhoods.
Housing and growth must be planned together with roads, water, drainage, sewage, emergency services and community facilities.
Residents should feel heard, informed and respected. Decisions should be explained clearly and supported by evidence.
Strong communities are built through collaboration. Jack will work with residents, First Nations, neighbouring municipalities, community organizations, businesses and other levels of government to achieve practical results.
